Albertville, it was named and platted in 1881. The Minneapolis and Northwestern Railroad Company paid Joseph Vetsch for a strip of land, 100 feet wide that ran through his property. There railroad tracks were laid down in the summer of 1881, this extended to the Clearwater area. In one more year, 1882 tracks were laid to connected through the St. Cloud vicinity, as well. By 1902 the population was already 190 people. On March 10, 1903, the first town election was held. In many more town meetings the decision was made to start building the Catholic church, the church was named "Church of St. Albert".
School Dististric lines are students living south of I-94 go to St. Michael Albertville schools. Any students living north of I-94 go to the Elk River schools.
Albertville has been growing ever since. Business, shopping, restruants, recreation, along with 11 different parks.
